How Much Does Colorbond Fencing Cost in Mooroolbark?
What actually drives the price of a Colorbond fence on Mooroolbark's sloping, rocky blocks, and why a per-metre quote matters.

What goes into the price
Colorbond fencing is usually priced per metre, but that number moves around depending on a few things we look at when we walk the line with you:
Length and height of the fence
Slope – stepped or raked fencing on a sloping block takes more time to get right than a flat run
Ground conditions – clay, rock or tree roots around Mooroolbark and the Dandenong foothills can slow down post holes
Gates – these get listed as their own line rather than folded into the per-metre rate
Old fence removal – pulling out an old fence, posts, and concrete footings is quoted separately too
Why we don't quote a flat number online
We could throw out a figure, but it wouldn't mean much. A block in Mooroolbark backing onto a slope is a different job to a flat yard in Croydon, and a fence shared with a neighbour is different again. Instead, Brendan comes out, measures up, looks at the ground and the trees, and puts together a written quote per metre.
If it's a dividing fence, that quote shows each side's share line by line, so you've got something to hand your neighbour rather than just a verbal number.
Rocky ground and extra costs
If we hit rock or big roots while digging post holes, we stop and talk to you before anything extra gets charged. That's a deliberate policy, not an afterthought, because a lot of the ground around here is exactly that kind of difficult.
Colorbond vs timber, cost-wise
Colorbond needs very little upkeep once it's up, which is worth factoring in alongside the install price. Timber paling is often cheaper to patch later if a panel gets damaged. We'll talk through both options on site based on your fence line and what you're trying to achieve.
Getting an accurate number
The fastest way to get a real figure is to have us walk the fence line with you. We'll measure, check the slope, note any gates or removal work, and give you a written per-metre quote with everything itemised. Call Brendan on 0491 571 266 to arrange a time that suits.
