Post and wire and rural fencing

Acreage boundaries need strainer posts that are properly braced, especially through the rocky, clay-heavy ground common around Mooroolbark and the foothills. Wire fencing that's strung off a weak strainer will sag or lean within a season or two.

“Storm knocked over a section of our fence. Brendan came and had a look later that week and replaced two posts and a few palings. Fair and tidy.”

Good to know before you book

Do you sort out the neighbour's share of a dividing fence?

We'll give you a quote that shows each side's share, which makes the conversation easier. The agreement itself is between you and your neighbour.

How long does a new fence take?

A typical suburban boundary is usually up in a couple of days, plus time for the post concrete to set. Rural runs depend on the length and the ground.

Can you fence a steep or rocky block?

Yes, that's a lot of what we do around here. We'll step or rake the fence to suit the slope and tell you upfront if the ground looks like it needs extra work.

Do you take the old fence away?

Yes, removal and disposal can be included in the quote. It's listed as its own line so you can see what it costs.

Colorbond or timber?

Colorbond needs little upkeep and comes in a range of colours; timber is warmer to look at and easier to patch. We'll talk through both when we're on site.

Do you do farm fencing?

Yes. Post and rail, plain wire, ringlock and hinge joint, plus farm and driveway gates, on blocks out towards Lilydale, Coldstream and Wandin North.

How the job is priced

Priced per metre once the line has been walked and the ground assessed. If digging hits rock or large roots, work stops and you're talked to before any extra cost is added.
